The colloquium will analyze the current situation and the progresses achieved in the past years of the couple women-cinema. The cinema has reinforced and legitimated all kinds of stereotypes about the woman. Ocasionally representing roles stuck in the past, the same roles that women have been playing since Antiquity, but other times, everyday more often in the current cinema, specially when there are more women working as directors, the role of the woman is becoming more important and the cinema presents to the society a critical vision of the independent woman, responsible as the man of the changes that society needs.
